Waynesburg University’s Department of Communication will host the second round of COM 465 internship presentations Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 12 p.m. in the McCance Auditorium. Attendance is limited and will be restricted to invite only.

The presenters will include Brooke Fuller, Rachel Pellegrino and Rachel Sanders.

Fuller, senior communication major with a minor in public relations, worked as a summer intern with The Hampton News and Hampton Magazine, located in Allison Park, Pa. She interviewed sources, wrote articles and took pictures for Hampton’s publications.

“Being able to work professionally and gain a lot of hands-on experience was really fun,” Fuller said. “It’s a great chance to get a taste of what it’s like to work in this field.”

Pellegrino, senior communication major with concentrations in electronic media and journalism, worked as a virtual summer intern with Magenta Publishers, located in Florence, Italy. She researched, wrote and edited articles for Magenta Publishers’ online and print publications.

“Interning with an international news publication proved to be an amazing experience both professionally and cross-culturally. I’m excited to share my experience and the knowledge I have gained with the Waynesburg community,” Pellegrino said.

Sanders, senior digital design major with a biblical ministry studies minor, worked as a summer intern with Pine Springs Camp. As a design intern, she took pictures and assisted with other tasks throughout the summer. She expressed the value in sharing her experience as well as the other presenters’ experiences.

“I think it’s important to share internship experiences so those who are searching can see, there’s no cookie cutter internships,” Sanders said. “You have to find the one that best suits you and your skills.”
