Author Talk with Bret Moore

The Flenniken Public Library will be hosting local author Bret Moore on Tues, Nov. 29 at 6 p.m. for an Author Talk event. Moore is the author of “Rough & Ungenlemanly Tactics,” a book on the history of sports in Greene County. For more information, contact Flenniken Public Library at 724-966-5263. Department of Recreation to send Santa Letters

Starting on Dec. 1 the Greene County Department of Recreation will be accepting letters to Santa from the local children. Children can write their letters to Santa Claus and mail them to the following address:

107 Fairgrounds Rd. 

Waynesburg, PA 15370

Each letter must include a form filled out by the children’s guardian. These forms can be found on the Parks and Recreation page at Parks & Recreation (greene.pa.us) or on the department’s Facebook page. For more information, call 724-852-5323. The deadline for letters is Dec. 15.

Waynesburg to hold Holiday Open House

Waynesburg Prosperous and Beautiful is holding the 14th annual Waynesburg Holiday Open House on Dec. 2 from 4-8 p.m. The event will feature wagon rides, caricature artists, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and the annual window decorating contest. The annual tree lighting will also take place on the steps of the Greene County Courthouse. 

Annual Christmas Parade to take place 

The Greene County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the annual Downtown Christmas Parade on Dec. 3. The parade will run down High Street in Waynesburg regardless of the weather. The parade begins at 2 p.m. and Santa himself will be in attendance.
