On Saturday afternoon, the Waynesburg University Men’s Golf team hosted Hiram and won four out of five dual matches.
Freshman Grady Palmer, who won his match alongside teammate sophomore Hudson Pincavitch, was impressed with the way the team played today.
“We stayed composed and strategic and made sure we attacked each hole,” Palmer said.
Palmer also thinks that this victory will help the Yellow Jackets in the Westminster Invitational on Monday.
“Any kind of win is a confidence booster that can roll on into the next match.”
Freshman Nathan Barnhart also won his matchup alongside teammate senior Tyler Townsend. Barnhart was satisfied with today’s win, and believes the rest of the team was, as well.
“Everyone was very satisfied by the win on Saturday. We showed great skill and communication to help us almost pull off a sweep against Hiram.” Barnhart said.
However, Barhart says there is still work to be done.
“Golf is a sport where there is always something to work on,” Barnhart said. “We will be working hard to perfect each aspect of our game in the simulators and hopefully we can make our way to being one of the top teams in the PAC.”
Waynesburg’s next action will be Monday at 12:30 when they travel to Avalon Field Club in New Castle, PA for the Westminster Invitational.
