The Waynesburg University Yellow Jackets Men’s Basketball team traveled to Beaver Falls on Wednesday to play the Geneva Golden Tornadoes and lost 67-57.
In what was a defensive game all around the Jackets dropped the matchup in what was a three-point shooting contest for Geneva as they shot 31 threes making 13 of them propelling them over the Jackets.
Payton Triplett led the way for Geneva scoring 17 and Issac Massie dropped a near triple double scoring seven points, grabbing seven rebounds, and picking up eight assists.
Antone Baker led the way for the Jackets, scoring 22 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, Jaylen Davis scored seven points and grabbed seven rebounds.
“We’ll review our performance, identify areas for improvement, and focus on refining our strategy for the next game,” Baker said on the loss. “Hard work and determination will be key to bouncing back.”
Mitchum, who scored five points against Geneva, mentioned this on the next two games at home.
“Next two at home are two big ones for us so got to learn from this and try to put together two big wins.”
The Jackets next game is at home against Allegheny the women play at 1 p.m and the men play directly after.
