Starting with an early lead in the first, it wasn’t enough. Captain Zachary Johnson scored his ninth goal of the 2025 season in the first half off a corner kick by sophomore Sarpong Kwabiah.
However, momentum shifted late in the first half when Allegheny responded with two quick goals.
Allegheny’s Will Gruca found the back of the net to level the score, and just minutes later, sophomore Arthur Every struck again to put the Gators ahead 2-1 heading into halftime.

Going into the second half, determined on defense, with both teams relying heavily on their goalkeepers.
Waynesburg’s goalkeeper Deven Patel stood tall between the posts, making four saves to keep them in the match.
On the other end, Allegheny’s goalkeeper Cadan Bennett matched Patel save for save, denying multiple Waynesburg efforts to equalize.
Despite the loss, head coach Treg Lunger remains optimistic and determined to push the team forward.

The Yellow Jackets now turn their attention to another road test against Washington & Jefferson College this Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025. The game is scheduled for 3 p.m.
