Guide to the Weekend: Jan. 31 – Feb. 2

There are rumors floating around Waynesburg University campus about how there is nothing to do in Waynesburg and Greene County. Well, they are just that: rumors. To disprove those myths, here are three events happening this weekend.

1. Angry Johnny Stangry Band

Drive over to Old Station Bar and Grill to hear John Stanger lead his band Feb. 1 from 9 p.m to 1 a.m. The band labels itself with the Progressive Blues genre. The band’s sound, however, changes depending on the song they are covering. They will cover songs Saturday night from Elvis Presley, The Rolling Stones and Tyler Childers. For more information, contact the band on their Facebook page here

2. 724 Jeepers Chicken Roast Benefit

In a dirt biking accident, Zack became paralyzed from the mid-torso down. To give him and his fiance financial aid, his off-roading group 724 Jeepers are organizing a roasted chicken sale for them Feb. 1 starting at 11 a.m. Also expect a Chinese auction, a 50/50 auction, a bake sale and possibly more event additions. 3. Quick Exit Band

If Progressive Blues does not sound appealing, then check out Quick Exit Rock. They are a Classic Rock group that do covers of classic rock songs and more recent songs. They will play at the Jefferson Hotel Feb. 1 starting at 8 p.m. To learn more, click here.

There will be no video for this guide this week. Come back to The Yellow Jacket  Wednesday of next week for information on three more weekend events.
