The start of the semester usually has the least amount of schoolwork. Before the schoolwork starts piling up, take the time to explore what Greene County has to offer. To aid in event searching, here is a guide to three events happening this weekend.
1. Mini Quilts
Not involving quilt blankets, this event, hosted by Country Roots Home Decor, involves creating wooden quilts that are intended for art Jan. 24 from 6-7 p.m. Prices include $30 for a 12”x12”, $40 for a 16”x16” and $60 for a 23”x23”. The decor shop advises arriving at least 20 minutes before the event starts to pick out colors and a pattern. To sign up and learn more about this event, click here.
2. Indoor Yard Sale
The Clarksville and Community Volunteer Fire Company is hosting their first-ever yard sale in their building Jan. 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. To sell at the yard sale, pay $5 for a table. Set up starts at 8 a.m. The department’s kitchen will be open to sell food for lunch. To learn more, click here.
3. Shadow Cats
Head out to the Rices Landing American Legion to watch the Shadow Cats perform. This band is willing to play a wide range of songs with the sound of rock. The event is open to the public and free. For more information on the Shadow Cats, visit their Facebook page here.
Starting next week, the “Guide to the Weekend” series will be posted on Wednesdays. Make sure to remember the change and come back to The Yellow Jacket for information on three more weekend events.
