On Wednesday, Sept. 22, the Student Activities Board (SAB) hosted their first Late Night Breakfast of the semester.

Pat Bristor, Associate Dean of Students, Jazmin Booker, Vice President of SAB and Senior Human Services major, as well as the executive board of SAB came up with the breakfast menu.

There were 86 students in attendance and a selection of breakfast food to choose from including eggs, sausage and french toast. The three students interviewed by the Yellow Jacket, however, expressed disappointment over the lack of bacon at the event.

“You had sausage, why didn’t you have its partner named bacon?” Hannah Rose, junior early childhood education major, said.

“A lot of people love bacon,” Caitlin Misejka, senior human services major, said.

“From all the breakfast foods, bacon is a staple. I feel very cheated that bacon wasn’t a part of the menu,” Cody Diyn, senior mathematics major, said. “It didn’t feel like a late night breakfast. What’s so special about tater tots when there’s no bacon?”

Bristor encourages the students at Waynesburg University to make suggestions for future events, however, she wasn’t concerned by the complaints.

“If they don’t want to eat it, they don’t have to eat it,” Bristor said. “It’s free. You’re coming for an event. It’s not a restaurant. You’re not paying for it.”

The students recognize that this was the first Late Night Breakfast of the semester. SAB is still getting into their groove.

“SAB is moving in the right direction,” Booker said. “There has been more participation this year at the events offered. I think for being in the middle of a pandemic, both the students and the staff are doing an awesome job.”

After hearing from some Waynesburg University students, SAB has goals to fulfill.

“Maybe, there’ll be bacon at the next one,” Bristor said.
