Coming up for the Greene County community is the Brew Blitz. On Feb. 21, five locally owned small businesses will be collaborating for one day. The event is sponsored by two other locally owned businesses, J.Lynn Designs and Hilltop Packs.
Ben McMillen, owner of Hilltop Packs, one of the sponsors, said that there has been plenty of interest in this event between business signing up and the community. The community’s enthusiasm for coffee encouraged everyone involved in this project to create it.
“We’ve seen how much people love the emerging coffee culture here, so the Brew Blitz felt like the natural next step,” McMillen said.
According to the Visit Greene County PA website, the businesses participating include: Press On Bakes & Brew, 5 Kids Kandy, Rices Landing Coffee Company, LK Cafe, and RGB Coffee. Visit any shop from 8 a.m to 2 p.m. on Feb. 21 for discounted drinks.
“Each of these five shops represents a small business owner who has poured their heart into their craft. By encouraging people to visit all five locations, we aren’t just selling coffee, we’re encouraging neighbors to discover new corners of their own county and support the local economy,” McMillen said.
This is the first large-scale “coffee tour” for the Greene County community. However, McMillen hopes to make it an annual event that people in the community can look forward to.
“The Brew Blitz is designed to be approachable and fun. At RGB, we’re especially excited because we’ll be serving coffee that is roasted right here in Waynesburg by Hilltop Packs Coffee Company,” McMillen said.
