Men’s Golf this past Monday traveled to Allison Park to participate in the La Roche Invitational at Wildwood Golf Club.
This round brought a rough competition for all teams in the invitational, with the number 1 spot scoring one over.
Sophomore, Matthew Karpeal had some comments on Wildwood.
“The course was definitely difficult due to how fast the greens were that day,” Karpeal said. “Overall the course wasn’t too bad, it had some easy holes too.”
Karpeal led the Yellow Jackets, tying for fourth place overall shooting a six-over score of 78.
Behind him is Michael Clark tying for eleventh place with an 83 and Tyler Townsend with an 86 tying him for 14th. The fourth man carded in the match was Hudson Pincavitch with a 90.
Bringing the team total to 337, and finishing the day seventh out of fifteen teams.
Men’s golf is doing very well compared to previous years to which the team thanks the new golf simulators and freshmen.
“We have really improved our scores since last year with the help of the new simulators, getting us a lot more practice in the offseason,” Karpeal said. “The addition of freshmen to the team really helped our scores as well and Coach Mike has been amazing these past couple of weeks.”
The next time the Yellow Jackets will be in action is when they will host the Hiram golf team this Saturday, October 7th at Greene County Country Club.
