Waynesburg hosted its first monthly midweek event on Wed., Nov. 15, where a variety of merchants were set up for shopping and other activities.

The six vendors that participated in the event were 5 Kidz Kandy, Hideaway Candle Bar, RGB Coffee, Gypsy Rambler, In Motion Dance and The Fashion Shoppe, according to visitgreenecounty.com. 

Dolly Throckmorton, from In Motion Dance Studio, was one of the people that brought this event to fruition. “I have been contacting people from Waynesburg’s merchants about coming up with a way to get people out in the community,” Throckmorton said. “We have been toying around with this idea, and it is the debut of Midweek with Merchants.”

While the main focus is shopping and connecting with the businesses of Waynesburg, there were also some relaxing events. In Motion Dance they hosted a “Gratitude Meditation” at 7:15 p.m., according to visitgreenecounty.com.

“Really, the expectation is that we are hoping to give the people of Waynesburg a way to shop among the merchants, get information, mingle with people downtown and so much more,” Throckmorton said.

While this was the debut of the event they plan to keep it going once a month with more events and activities to come. “When the warmer months come around, we will be accessing more outdoor activities and utilizing our sidewalks and streets more,” Throckmorton said.
