Career Closet: what you don’t know!

To assist students with finding professional and appropriate attire, the basement of Eberly Library has free clothes for these students.

The Career Closet has a variety of options for dress clothes. It offers dress shoes, shirts, pants, dresses and more. To top that off, students can choose more than one item of their liking.

Waynesburg University’s new Academic Services Coordinator Sam Pete said sixty four students last year used the Career Closet.

Pete went on to talk about the benefits from a student aspect as she revealed that she was also a student who has just graduated from Waynesburg University, now hired on staff.

“The Career Closet has helped students in need for internship apparel, for job interviews and even the classroom presentations for classes like public speaking where students need to “dress up,” according to Pete.

Pete explained how to set appointments by using Waynesburg University’s student website.

“We have our open hours for the Career Closet Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but students can also make an appointment on Handshake with one of the Pathway Center staff and we will open it for them at that time,” Pete said.

Students have the option to keep the clothes or return after use. Some may wonder how many items they can have, and Pete cleared the air, saying, “It is free, there is no limit to anything in there.”

The times are posted on the door located in Eberly Library. They are Monday from 12 to 3 p.m., Wednesday from 1 to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 12 to 2:30 p.m.
