Orange Week returns for 2026

Orange Week, Waynesburg University’s annual crowdfunding event supporting academic departments and athletic teams, runs from March 13-20, Donna Nypaver, director of donor relations and alumni giving, and MaChal Forbes, coordinator of donor relations and alumni giving, wrote in an email correspondence.

“Each participating team identifies a specific item or need-such as new equipment, a meaningful experience, or conference attendance-and asks for support to help achieve that goal,” wrote Nypaver and Forbes.

New this year, clubs and organizations will be given the opportunity to raise money for specific items, conferences or trips, said Pat Bristor, associate dean of students and director of student engagement.

Bristor explained clubs will select the item that they want to fundraise for, get a picture of the item, find the approximate cost, and then work with the donor relations and alumni giving office to develop the link to the Orange Week webpage and their item fund directly. As a club, they can then promote this through social media, alumni, club members, family and friends.

The club that raises the most will also receive an additional $250 bonus from the Student Activities Board, Bristor said.

The deadline for registration is this Friday, Feb. 27.

To promote Orange Week, on campus, the Office of Institutional Advancement will partner with the Student Activities Board, Bristor said, “We look at the calendar and see what all I already have on the calendar, and then we pair together.”

The following are the determined plans for Orange Week that SAB is hosting in conjunction with the Office of Institutional Advancement, outlined by Bristor.

Friday, March 13 is the first official day of Orange Week. SAB is hosting a Lenten Fish Fry Fundraiser in the Baily Room in Benedum Dining Hall. The proceeds raised from this event will go to the Mission/Service Trip Scholarship Fund, according to Bristor’s This Week at WU email.

On Monday, March 16 SAB will have Cake in a Mug activity on the first floor of Stover Campus Center, using orange mugs.

“At every event throughout the week, there’ll be a promotion towards Orange Week,” Bristor said.

Tuesday, March 17 is the annual St. Patrick’s Day event in the beehive. SAB will have shamrock shakes, St. Patrick’s Day trivia, beads, and some music. In addition to this, there will also be an option for orange floats.

The Polar Plunge is Wednesday, March 18 on campus. All donations go to support the Special Olympics.

Thursday, March 19 is a Little Debbie Swarm.

To end Orange Week the Office of Institutional Advancement is making orange floats in Benedum Dining Hall, Friday, March 20.
