On Sept. 20, Waynesburg University’s Student Activity Board is planning an outdoor movie night in Johnson Commons according to the promotional flyers scattered on numerous different bulletin boards in and around the campus buildings.
According to the flyer that was also posted on myConnect, the movie that is being shown during this event outside is “Inside Out 2.” The movie showing will start at 8 p.m.
The event is free for all students and staff to enjoy, it also says to invite family and friends to this event, which is sure to, “Make Room For New Emotions,” according to the flyer.
“This event provides fellowship opportunities for students that come together for this event. It in the end helps improve the student’s experience here,” said Alyssa D’ Alessandro, graduate assistant in Waynesburg University’s Office of Student Engagement.
D’Alessandro also said that the SAB’s ultimate goal in the long run is to “Put together trips and events to provide interest and to build connection and community.”
According to D’Alessandro, the Student Activity Board meets on Thursdays at 2 p.m. in the Stover Campus Center, room 301, and they are always accepting new members to join the board. All are welcome to come share new and exciting ideas for trips and different activities, as well as to help pick different events.
For the viewing, students are being asked to bring snacks, pillows and blankets to the outdoor movie to enhance their experience. D’Allessandro also mentioned that there is no cost for the event and no sign-up is necessary.
“Come out and connect with other students,” D’Allessandro said.
