Waynesburg University hosts Criminal Justice Fair

On October 26, Waynesburg University held its annual Job Fair for the Criminal Justice Department.

This gives student who are in the department a chance to see a multitude of job opportunities and careers within their field of choice. Just over 50 local, state, and federal agencies were in attendance for this event.

“This is seriously one of the best opportunities for Criminal Justice students to get a greater understanding of the jobs and fields there are for them when they’re finished here at Waynesburg,“ Adam Jack said over email. Adam Jack is the chairperson of the Department of Criminal Justice and Social Science and professor of Criminal Justice.

Jack was in attendance at this event, as were all criminal justice students. Classes were canceled that morning of the 26, so that all students in the department could be a part of this annual event.

“We, as the department, decided it would be best for all morning classes to be canceled so that no student could miss out on this event. We’ve done this every year since the event began. All students are welcome, not just Criminal Justice students. It just wouldn’t be fair to those who might question what their future holds,” Jack said.

Upperclassmen students were also able to hand out resumes to any agency at the event. FBI, CIA, DEA, and all local law enforcement were present at this event.

“I’ve always loved coming to this job fair,” Aiden Sheely, senior criminal justice major, said. “[It] always surprises me how Waynesburg is able to get federal agencies to set up a booth here. Really broadens my choices for what I want to do outside of school.”
