The holidays with all their traditions and family reunions are just a few weeks away, but first, the hurdle of finals needs to be passed. With all the burdens of finishing projects and studying, why not take a break this weekend? Here is a guide to three events this weekend to enjoy the holiday spirit.
- Light-Up Night
The town of Waynesburg is kicking off the most wonderful time of the year with its Christmas tree in front of the Greene County Courthouse. The event is from 5-8 p.m. Friday, with the Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6 p.m. Businesses along E High Street will open their doors to share in the festivities.
- 2019 Annual Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade
With 109 floats scheduled to parade, the Greene County Chamber of Commerce is continuing its parade tradition. Watch the parade Saturday, Dec. 7, from 2-3 p.m. Make sure to look out for Santa Claus’ float.
- Holiday Craft Blast
To get into the holiday spirit while enjoying that craft hobby, check out this craft show Sunday, Dec. 8, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hosted by the Nathaniel Greene Community Development Corporation, the show will be in three rooms at the Greene County Fairgrounds.
This is the last guide to the weekend of the semester. Remember to come back next year for a guide every Thursday. The Yellow Jacket would like to wish its readers happy holidays.
