CrossPoint AOG hosts ‘Hope Harvest’ event

On Saturday, Sept.23, the Crosspoint Assembly of God church hosted the Hope Harvest Fall Fest at the Greene County Fairgrounds from 2 to 5 p.m.. The pastor at Crosspoint Assembly of God, Josh Koss, spoke more about the event.

“It was a fall festival with a very Christ-centered focus. The goal was to bring families from the community together for a family friendly event that was free to the public. It promotes mostly the community, but also had the desire to invite the families that didn’t have a church home. We wanted to plug those families into one of our two church campuses,” Koss said. “We were also able to partner with other Christ-centered businesses that have been helpful to the community in multiple different avenues.”

This is not the first time Crosspoint has put on an event like this. Koss spoke more about the many events they have hosted in recent years.

“This is the third year in a row we’ve had an event like this,” Koss said. “We have other events like a Trunk or Treat event we’ve put on in the past, and we also had an egg drop event earlier this year [with]a 4500 person turnout, which is always great to see.”

Although the cold and rain of the day meant the number of people was down compared to other events, it was a big success for all the families, sponsors and vendors involved.

“It was a great value for all the families that turned out,” Koss said. “We had a number of people commit to joining the church, which was a great thing to see. Overall, all the organizations benefited from exposure and the setting of the event. The vendors had good turnouts and it was a profitable event for them, and the food trucks as well. Obviously we always hope for a bigger turnout, and I think the rain and cold didn’t help, but it was still a great event for the church and everyone involved.”

On the Crosspoint Assembly of God website, they state that they are a church “with a big heart and a big vision for reaching all of Greene County for God’s glory.”
