Ramsey Easterday, who was born and raised in Egg Harbor township, New Jersey is a senior Forensic Investigation major and Psychology minor. Believe it or not, this was not Ramsey’s first choice for her major before she arrived at Waynesburg University.
“Before my senior year of high school, I wanted to be a teacher,” Easterday said. “I wanted nothing to do with it, but I had a forensic science class in high school that I took, and it inspired me to go a different route, I wanted to do more behind the scenes and more crime scene stuff.”
Easterday had a lot of people who impacted her life, but she told me to talk to and reach out to her Christian Life mentor and Coordinator of Campus Ministry, Rebecca Juliano. Juliano spoke on just the growth that she has seen from Ramsey over the three years she has mentored her.
“I had a conversation with her on Thursday and we talked about courage and going from a high school graduate and then stepping into her college years and realizing that she can do a lot more that she expected,” Juliano said. “Seeing her grow and her willingness to try new things and courageously enter spaces and to do it well and to thrive and to grow in her education and her faith as well.”
During her time at Waynesburg, Easterday has had a few titles to her name. She is the current Vice President of the Forensic Science Club and has also been a Christian Life Scholar during her four years and has received the highest department honors in Forensic Investigation in the class of 2026 as well.
Juliano has been with her for three years and has gotten to see her grow. Juliano talked about what she will miss most about Ramsey when she graduates on Sunday.
“I will miss the conversations about navigating those hard things in life with her, “Juliano said. “There was a willingness to face hard things and just missing those conversations about how to navigate life and how to do it well.”
Following graduation, Ramsey is planning on going home back to New Jersey where she plans on spending time with her family and getting everything situated before she moves to Danville, Virginia.
