Season 14: WU Idol Returns for Round 2

Ten contestants remain as the amazing group of singers take on round 2 of WU Idol Saturday night at 8 in the GPAC, battling it out to make it to the final round.

 

The following is a list of the contestants and their performances featuring music from the 2000s:

  • Nathaniel Fletcher “Tell the World” by Lecrae
  • Rachel Calvetti “No One Else”by Natasha, Pierre and The Great Comet of 1812
  • Colin Rhodes “Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons
  • Autumn Hanson “You Say” by Lauren Daigle
  • Caitlin Misejka “How Far I’ll Go” by From the Disney Movie “Moana”
  • Josh Anderson “Death of a Bachelor” by Panic at the Disco
  • Emmanuel Lespere “Wake Up” by Julie and the Phantoms
  • Sarah Bloom “Mean” by Taylor Swift
  • Rachel Redinger “You’ll be Back” by Johnathan Groff and the Original Cast of Hamilton

Nathaniel Fletcher entered center stage singing “Tell The World” by Lecrae

“I feel like I did amazing honestly like last week,” Fletcher said. “I kind of messed up a little so I’ve been rehearsing and this song I’ve been ready to use so I’m very happy with how it went. I got a lot of feedback from the crowd and they all enjoyed it”

Fletcher will be performing in the final round. The third round’s theme will be “song of your choice.” 

“Next week, I am going to be writing a song I wrote myself so I’m very excited for it. It’s going to be pretty good. I think the crowd is going to love it,” he said.

Another performer was Amy Lui singing “Talking to the moon” by Bruno Mars.

“I feel like for my performance I could have done better,” Amy Lui said. “Everything is great. Everyone did great. I was so nervous so I got a little voice crack but other than that it’s good.”

Amy Lui was not selected to move to the final round.

With five contestants remaining, the WU Idol Winner will be selected at the final round Friday, Oct. 2 in the Goodwin Performing Arts Center.
