For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Andrew Hreha, and I am the Executive Editor of The Yellow Jacket newspaper for the 2020-2021 school year. It is great to be back on campus and to see everyone hard at work once again. I want to thank everyone involved for allowing us to return to campus and for putting a great plan in place for us to stay.
I want to update everyone on The Yellow Jacket and let you know about the exciting plans we have for this year. Starting Monday, we will once again be releasing new and exciting content, telling the story of another unique journey at Waynesburg University.
While our print operations are delayed, we look forward to bringing you the latest news online from around campus, the region and sports. Please follow us on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook @WUYellowJacket to stay up to date with our coverage.
I am blessed with a talented and committed staff that is ready to deliver professional content to the WU community in the form of print, broadcast and photo journalism. We are dedicated to providing coverage that is focused on both integrity and safety as we attempt to do our part to Keep Waynesburg Well.
Because of this, you may not see us at events or be talking to us in person for interviews. But please know that we are committed, now more than ever, to telling your story. We are collectively experiencing an environment we’ve never before seen in our lifetime, and each one of us has a story to tell.
My hope is that The Yellow Jacket can serve as a source of information you need, as well as a source of entertainment with stories you enjoy reading, as you face the various academic challenges of your studies and the additional challenges of the pandemic.
If you have any questions about The Yellow Jacket, would like to contribute or have an idea for a story, please feel free to email me. I am very excited for what this year has in store, and I hope you’ll follow along with us as we capture it in real time.
God bless, and welcome back!
