League of Legends off to a slow start

The team as a whole has started the season off with a 0-2 record, losing the past two matchups to the University of Ottawa’s black and red teams.

After some back and forth matchups in their activation matches, the team have now been swept twice, going 0-2 in both meetings against Ottawa.

In the Yellow Jackets inaugural season, the team made it to the NECC postseason, earning a 5th seed position and winning the first round in a 2-0 sweep against Lebanon Valley. They would be knocked out shortly after by King’s College.

The team made National’s to begin 2023, yet again being knocked out by King’s College, but overall the progress made was exceptional according to former coach Matt Pioch.

Though it is very early in the season for the former post-season team, starting without a win and being swept in both contests could be concerning for some.

“It’s a slow start,” said League of Legends player Darrion Allensworth. “But everything comes with time. There’s no faith lost in this team, we know our strengths, and we’ll continue to push forward.”

The next match won’t be until Oct. 11, where the Yellow Jackets will face off against Mount Union.
The stream will be live and available on the team’s Twitch channel, waynesburgesports.
