It is the season for blood drives and for giving blood to those in need where many will go out to give blood to someone and get a little cup of orange juice and oreos. The Greene Scene Magazine, Rotary Club of Waynesburg and Direct Results are hosting a Greene Positive Blood Drive on October 22 from noon to 6 p.m. at the Waynesburg Hampton Inn on 227 Greene Plaza.
Michelle Frye, a member of Direct Results who is one of the hosts, says there is an extra incentive to give this October.
“Everyone who comes to the blood drive gets a ticket to Haunted Hills Estate in Uniontown,” Frye said.
The haunted estate is open on the weekends till the end of this month. “They are even going to have some of the actors from the estate to take pictures with participants,” Frye explained.
If you are able to give blood you should make the attempt to go and give blood to the people that need it the most, “Even if you cannot give blood due to iron deficiency or something like that, you will still get a ticket to the haunted estate,” she said.
She said creative measures can be taken to improve turnout, “If the professors want to give bonus points that would help me out greatly.”
