Pumpkin fest kicks off Halloween season

Spooky season was in full effect on Monday. Waynesburg students had the opportunity to carve and paint pumpkins and ceramics while also enjoying refreshments and snacks as well.

“I think it’s a great opportunity to be creative and really get into the fall spirit if you will,” senior Julz Mohrbacher said. “I think it’s fun. It was something kind of new and a cool opportunity for students to be with others and either carve a pumpkin or pain a pumpkin or ceramic which I’m really excited to do.”

Pumpkin fest ran from 4-6 p.m. on the third floor of the Stover Campus Center in room 302. This event was hosted by the Student Activities Board (SAB) and was the first event that kicked off the Halloween season.

“We love when students can get out of their rooms and come experience different things and just be with their friends,” SAB Graduate Assistant Ashley D’Allesandro said. “We love the themed events and it’s one of our biggest fall events leading up to Harvest Fest.”

With Harvest Fest just a week away, this gave students the opportunity to see what it was like on campus during this time of year.

“I would love to do more events like this,” Mohrbacher said. “I think they are a great outlet and just a fun space for students to express themselves and interact with others through simple crafts and activities.”

Many more events are on the Horizon leading up to Waynesburg University’s Harvest Fest on Oct. 29. To learn more about Harvest Fest or anything else that is happening on campus, students can go to myConnect.
