University will now provide an online billing service

This year, Waynesburg University will be partnering with Nelnet Campus Commerce to provide students with a new online billing process. The service will allow students to receive an electronic billing statement, as well as, real time online access to their tuition account.

“In place of paper statements, tuition billing statements are now sent electronically,” said Laura Coss, chief financial officer.  “The new online billing process provides students with an email notification to their Waynesburg student email when a new billing statement is available. Students can then log into their online account through self service to view their full tuition statement.”

The new billing process will benefit both parents and students by giving students 24/7 access to their online tuition account.

“The new online account allows students to view their balance, transaction details and billing statement. Additionally, they can make a payment or set up a payment plan,” Coss said.

Students will also have the ability to add their parents, guardians or whomever they so choose to be able to see their tuition account. Cross said this was an important feature they wanted to make available when considering what service to switch to.

“It was important that we find a solution that would be able to provide parents with their own login information to be able to  access their student’s tuition account.”

Waynesburg decided to partner with Nelnet Campus Solutions so that students could have easy access to their current tuition information online.

“Online billing is something that students and parents have shown an interest in over the last few years,” Coss said. “The business office had been looking into what online options were available that would work with our current student information system and also be beneficial to our students and parents. Overall, the business office has been looking for a user friendly website for both students and parents to use.”

The financial aid office urges students who haven’t logged into their online tuition account to log in and set it up.

“Tuition billing statements will be sent electronically, and the email notification will provide the semester balance that is being billed and the due date,” Coss explained.

In addition, if a student does not log into their account and open their full statement within seven days a reminder email will be sent.

“If the students are having any trouble accessing the site or have any questions, please contact the business office. We appreciate the patience of both students and parents as we work through this new process,” said Coss.
